The Citizens Utility Board (CUB), an independent, not-for-profit organization
representing the interests of Illinois residential utility consumers in matters
pertaining to the rapidly changing telephone, gas and electricity industries.
CUB was created by the Illinois General Assembly in 1983 and is the state’s only agency devoted to advocacy on behalf of residential utility customers. It is funded primarily by the voluntary contributions of its member households.
