• You can only get the rebate if you are replacing an existing appliance with a new ENERGY STAR qualified one. At the time of purchase, you will have to certify that you are purchasing a replacement appliance. Arrangements for hauling away your old appliance should be made through the retailer at the time of purchase or through municipal, private, or electric utility recycling services.

•Only new appliances/equipment purchased in the state of Illinois, from an establishment that pays Illinois sales tax, for personal use by the consumer, and for use at the consumer’s residence are eligible for this rebate. This program is not intended to be used by multi-family building owners.

•Only Illinois residents are eligible for these rebates. You will be asked for your home zip code at the time of purchase.

•Rebates will not be retroactive.

• Each household is limited to one rebate for each type of appliance. That means a family buying a new refrigerator and dishwasher could get a 15 percent discount on each appliance. A family buying two refrigerators, however, would get just one 15 percent rebate.

•No rebate will be offered to customers who are representing a company or using corporate funding to purchase appliances. In addition, retailers will have the right to refuse to have the appliances delivered to a place of business.

•Only residential-scale equipment will qualify. Only installations in Illinois will qualify. Installations in commercial space will not be applicable.

• Disabled individuals physically unable to make their purchases in-store may do so by calling a participating retailer.

•Program expires when funds are depleted. Check the program website for information about remaining program budget: www.IllinoisEnergy.org/Appliances.

• Funding for this program is provided by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act and the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.
