As part of the concessions it made for federal approval of its merger with BellSouth, AT&T will now be offering Yahoo! High Speed Internet (Digital Subscriber Line or DSL) to new customers for $10 per month.


The Deal
AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet BASIC for $10 per month. The speed is 768 kilobits per second, about half as fast as most DSL hookups but about 10 times faster than most dial-up connections.

Length of contract
12 months, and is offered through Dec. 30, 2009

How to sign up for the deal
Go to AT&T High Speed Internet.
Contract requirements
• Customer must be an AT&T local phone customer.
• The offer is ONLINE only – meaning you must sign-up for it over the Internet.
• Must not have subscribed to AT&T Yahoo! High Speed Internet or BellSouth high-speed Internet any time during the past 12 months.
• AT&T DSL service must be available in customer’s area.
Other info
• Customers will be charged for a modem – either the basic modem ($49.99) or the Wireless Gateway ($79.99) and a shipping and handling fee on their first bill. Customers who purchase the basic modem will receive a $49.99 instant credit rebate.
• Early termination fee of $50 if customer ends service prior to the end of the 12-month term. If the customer moves where AT&T DSL service is not available, the termination fee will be waived.
• $150 to $200 installation fee if technician installation is required or desired.
Additional rebate information
• Customers should register for their rebates at the AT&T reward center 30 days after establishing DSL service.
• Rebate request must be sent within 90 days of AT&T high speed Internet activation.
• One equipment rebate is allowed per high-speed Internet line.
• Rebate check will be mailed only after the customer reaches a “60 day mininimum service requirement.”
Tips to remember
• You MUST be an AT&T local customer.
• If you have had AT&T or BellSouth high-speed Internet ANY TIME during the past 12 months you don’t qualify.
• You must live where DSL is already offered.

Static IP products not included. Speed references based on maximum downstream DSL synch rates and may vary. $150-$200 additional charge will apply if technician install is required or desired.
