CUB, CFLs put lid on Plainfield power bills
February 4, 2009—To honor Plainfield’s commitment to energy efficiency, CUB presented Mayor James Waldorf
with 3,400 money-saving Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFLs). Plainfield was one of
10 communities that won the bulbs in CUB’s “Get Green Community Giveaway,” where
people pledge to use CFLs in their homes. “We’re thrilled,” Mayor James A. Waldorf said.
“People are going to benefit from it.” Plainfield residents can stop by Village Hall
to pick up two free bulbs per household until supplies run out. Take CUB’s
“Get Green” pledge today and you’ll get the chance to win 50 free CFLs for yourself or a month of
free electricity. You’ll also help your community’s chances of winning up to 10,000 bulbs in 2009.
