CUB delivers four-figure phone savings in Peoria
March 25, 2009—A standing room only crowd filled Peoria’s McClure Branch
Library Monday, looking for ways to reduce rising telephone costs. CUB’s experts delivered,
giving advice that
cut the average attendee’s bill by more than $18 a month, or $216 a year.
“Anything to save a little money nowadays,” said one happy consumer, who learned how to save by ditching a fat AT&T long-distance plan in favor of Pioneer Telephone’s Rate Buster plan, 2-3 cents per minute, plus a CUB-negotiated $20 credit. One lucky consumer told Peoria’s WEEK-TV how CUB’s tips trimmed his annual phone bill by $1,000. As news cameras rolled, CUB staffers cut bloated bill after bloated bill, delivering big savings—and big smiles—to more than 60 relieved phone customers. |
