CUB To Pass Out 700 Money-Saving Light Bulbs,
Help Consumers Cut Utility Bills At Will County Earth Day Fest
CHICAGO, May 11, 2009—The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) will show consumers
how they can slash soaring utility bills by making their homes more energy
efficient at the
Will County Earth Day Fest.
CUB staffers will inform consumers about government and utility programs available for those looking to make money-saving energy-efficiency improvements to their homes, as well as offer simple steps consumers can take to put a lid on rising energy bills. “With a steamy Illinois summer just around the corner, there is no better time to get CUB’s advice,” said CUB Environmental Programs Coordinator Rebecca Devens. “Not only is saving energy good for the planet, it’s also good for the pocketbook.”

As an added bonus, CUB will pass out 700 money-saving Compact Fluorescent Light
bulbs (CFLs), which use just a quarter of the energy of regular incandescent bulbs
and can save up to $50 over each bulb’s lifetime. The bulbs will be handed
out—one per adult—while supplies last.
