CHICAGO, May 28, 2010—The Citizens Utility Board (CUB) on Wednesday, June 2, will hold a news conference to launch CUB Energy Saver, the nation's first free online service that pays households for reducing their energy use, cuts their utility costs by hundreds of dollars a year, and tracks their savings by connecting to actual Commonwealth Edison bills.
10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 2
Citizens Utility Board (CUB) Headquarters 309 W. Washington St., Suite 800 Chicago CUB Executive Director David Kolata will speak on this state-of-the art service for Illinois consumers. Joining him will be Matt Tucker, president of RecycleBank, and Tom Scaramellino, CEO and founder of Efficiency 2.0. CUB, a nonprofit consumer group, formed a unique partnership with RecycleBank and Efficiency 2.0 to create CUB Energy Saver. CUB is Illinois’ leading nonprofit utility watchdog organization. Created by the Illinois Legislature, CUB opened its doors in 1984 to represent the interests of residential and small-business utility customers. Since then, CUB has saved consumers more than $10 billion by helping to block rate hikes and secure refunds.
