The Mother of CUB
Former state senator and gubernatorial candidate Dawn Clark Netsch was called the "Mother of CUB," for her efforts to make the consumer group a reality. She co-chaired CUB's anniversary celebration with former Illinois Gov. Jim Edgar. "I'm sorry to say I'm late because my electricity wouldn't go on this morning," Netsch said, drawing laughs from the crowd.
