Joseph Giamberdino joined the team as CUB’s outreach coordinator in May 2020. Along with overseeing the planning and execution of events, Joe helps create promotional materials and conducts research for CUB. 
“Needless to say, beginning a new job during the pandemic was challenging,” Joe said. “But thanks to my colleagues, I feel that I have been able to settle in as nicely as can be expected.”
Joe said that while he has learned a great deal about the nuances of energy and utility policy in Illinois, the most important lesson he learned while working at CUB is the importance of consumer advocacy and education as a means of empowerment.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted and exacerbated many inequities that exist in communities around the state, and organizations like CUB play a pivotal role in giving power back to underserved communities,” Joe said. “Being a member of the CUB team affords me the opportunity to spread the word about the variety of resources available to those in need.”
