November’s free, money-saving CUB events

The chilly, wet days of November are officially upon us, but luckily CUB has a number of events to help you stay warm while saving money.

Below is a roundup of free events taking place throughout the state over the month. We hope to see you at one. 

4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2: Downers Grove Utility Bill Clinic 

CUB is hosting a free in-person event to advise residents on reducing electric, gas and both landline and cellphone bills. Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to review their bills. This event will take place at the Downers Grove Public Library (1050 Curtiss St, Downers Grove, IL 60515). 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 2: Energy Efficiency with CUB

Join CUB at the North Riverside Public Library (2400 Des Plaines Ave, North Riverside, IL 60546) for an in-person presentation on how to comfortably practice energy efficiency at home. There will be a Q&A session at the end. RSVP here. 

6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3: Things You Should Know: Energy in Your Home

Join CUB at the Bickerdike Apartments (2556 W North Ave, Chicago, IL 60647) for an in-person workshop on reducing your carbon footprint, free programs designed to save you energy and money, making your home more comfortable, how to take advantage of solar power and the benefits of building electrification. 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Monday, Nov. 7: Schaumburg Township Utility Bill Clinic

CUB and Schaumburg Township (1 Illinois Blvd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169) are hosting a free in-person event to advise residents on reducing electric, gas and both landline and cellphone bills. Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to review their bills. 

(CANCELLED) 6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Monday, Nov. 14: Understanding Cable and Reducing Robocalls with CUB

Join CUB and the Harvard Diggins Library (Lions Park, 900 E McKinley St, Harvard, IL 60033) for an in-person presentation on your cable options and reducing robocalls. During this event, a CUB representative will discuss ways to cut your cable costs and the different choices in the TV market. Register here.

6:30 – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 16: Understanding Cable and Reducing Robocalls with CUB

CUB will host another in-person presentation on cable options and robocalls at the Villa Park Public Library (305 Ardmore Ave, Villa Park, IL 60181). Register here.

11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 22: Rockford Resource Fair

CUB will have a table at state Rep. Maurice West’s resource fair taking place at the Rockford Police Department District 1 (1045 W State St, Rockford, IL 61101). Stop by for important information on energy efficiency.
