Say NO to AT&T's Plan to End Traditional Home Phone Service

UPDATE: In July, the General Assembly voted to override Gov. Bruce Rauner’s veto of AT&T legislation that would eventually end landline phone service in its Illinois territory. The company still has to get final approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  Please read CUB’s statement.

AT&T has announced it is ending Consumer’s Choice local phone plans Nov. 17. Read CUB’s fact sheet on what happens now.

Now the battle moves to Washington. Take action:

Send a message asking Illinois’ Congressional delegation to protect landline customers.

The FCC is currently discussing the transition to alternative phone options. You can make a public comment on that case. (Press the “express” button on the left sidebar to make a comment).
