Multi-family buildings powered by Ameren are eligible for FREE energy-saving products, which may include:

• LEDs for individual units and common areas
• Showerheads and faucet aerators
• Advanced power strips for televisions and desktop computers
• Smart thermostats
• Hot water heater pipe insulation

This program is available to multi-family properties, regardless of the income of the owner or occupants. You have to be either an Ameren gas or electric customer, or both.

The property owner or manager of a property containing 3 or more individual residential units can visit AmerenIllinoisSavings.com/For-My-Business/Explore-Incentives/Multifamily-Properties to schedule an assessment for their building.

Multifamily properties with over 50% income-eligible customers, as well as registered, not-for-profit organizations and public housing authorities, can get free energy-saving products in addition to FREE weatherization services.

Ameren Illinois customers who meet income requirements based on household size qualify for a FREE home energy audit, which may include the following FREE energy-saving measures:

The Facts On LEDs 

• Use about 75% less energy than incandescent bulbs.
• Last up to 35-50 times longer than incandescent lighting and 2-5 times longer than fluorescent lighting.
• Save on cooling costs, as they produce little heat.

You can purchase discounted energy-efficient products, such as LEDs, advanced power strips, and smart thermostats, through the Ameren Online Marketplace.

Advanced power strips cut power to electronics such as televisions and desktop computers when not in use. Ameren customers qualify for a $8 rebate towards the purchase of an advanced power strip.

A smart thermostat lets you monitor and control your home’s temperature from any web-enabled device so you can save energy and money whether you’re at home or on the go. Ameren customers qualify for a $100 rebate towards the purchase of a smart thermostat.

Refrigerators over 15 years old can use twice as much energy as newer models and could be costing you as much as $150 a year in electricity.

Central Air Conditioner (Standard Replacement)	$400	Replacement of an existing central air-conditioning unit with a new central air-conditioning unit that is rated 16.0 SEER or greater.
Central Air Conditioner (Early Retirement)	$650	Replacement of a working central air-conditioning unit with a new central air-conditioning unit. Current unit must be verifiably operable and have a nameplate SEER rating of 10.0 or less. New unit must be rated 16.0 SEER or greater.
Air-source heat pump (Standard replacement, replacing air-source heat pump)	$600	Replacement of an existing air-source heat pump with a new air-source heat pump. New heat pump must be rated 16.0 SEER or greater and 9.0 HSPF or greater.
Air-source heat pump (Early retirement, replacing air-source heat pump)	$850	Replacement of a working air-source heat pump with a nameplate SEER rating of 10.0 or less. New air-source heat pump must be rated 16.0 SEER or greater and 9.0 HSPF or greater.
Air-source heat pump (Early retirement, replacing electric furnace or baseboard heat)	$1,200	Replacement of a working central air conditioner with a nameplate SEER rating of 10.0 or less with a new air-source heat pump (which would become the home’s primary heating and cooling source); home must currently be heated with an electric-resistance heat soure (electric furnance or baseboard heat). New air-source heat pump must be rated 16.0 SEER or greater and 9.0 HSPF or greater.
High efficiency blower motor	$150	Installation of a high-efficiency blower motor, which uses significantly less power and adjusts the motor’s speed to ensure optimal airflow. New blower motor must be part of a system with a new gas furnace and a furnance AHRI certificate must be submitted with the application. (*Not available in combination with Air-Source Heat Pump incentives.)
Air-source heat pump water heater	$500	Installation of a new air-source heat pump water heater that replaces an existing electric water heater (not available for replacement of an existing heat pump water heater.

Ameren will pick up your old refrigerator or freezer, recycle it in an environmentally responsible way, and send you $50.

To qualify for recycling, your refrigerators and/or freezer must be:

• Between 10 and 27 cubic ft (interior)
• Empty, defrosted, and working at the time of pick-up
• Removable without risk of injury or modification of your home
• Owned by you and located at the address with the qualifying Ameren account

Heating and Cooling Discounts

Ameren Illinois provides rebates on some energy efficient equipment.

To qualify for these discounts, your contractor must be a registered Program Ally and follow Ameren guidelines for both the new equipment and the equipment you are replacing.

Additional rebate requirements:

• You must be an Ameren Illinois customer
• Equipment must be purchased from and installed by a registered HVAC Program Ally
• Self-installed equipment does not qualify for home heating or cooling discounts
• Existing unit(s) must be removed by a registered HVAC Program Ally
• All projects require program approval prior to project start date
• All program paperwork must be submitted within 30 days of the installation date or by Dec. 31, 2019.
• To qualify for the Early Retirement incentive, your Program Ally must verify that your current equipment is in working condition and gather additional required information about the unit(s). For this reason, only your Program Ally may remove the existing unit(s).
