We have a winner in the CUB energy efficiency survey. Congratulations to John H. of Glendale Heights, who will receive $100 off his utility bills!
CUB is alerting Illinois residents to special pricing programs and energy efficiency incentives offered by the utilities that can help you save big on your utility bills.
More than 1,900 people took the survey, and here’s what we learned:
- 12.6% are signed up for ComEd’s Peak Time Savings, which gives you a credit for avoiding heavy electricity usage at peak times.
- 7% are enrolled in hourly pricing programs, like ComEd’s Residential Real-Time Pricing and Ameren’s Power Smart Pricing, which allow you to take advantage of low electricity market rates at certain hours of the day.
- 12.4% have signed up for programs in which the utility comes to your home to conduct a free energy assessment and install free energy-saving products.
Finally, a whopping 95% reported that they are “very energy efficient” or “somewhat efficient.” (For summer energy efficiency tips, check out our blog post here.)
The answers to this survey will help guide our outreach efforts and let us know what information you need in order to take advantage of these great opportunities. To learn more about energy efficiency opportunities and incentives, visit CUB’s website.
