Don’t miss your savings: Deadline to enroll in Peak Time Savings is tomorrow

Attention ComEd customers: If you haven’t already signed up for Peak Time Savings (PTS), tomorrow, Tuesday, April 30, is the last day to do it in order to participate in the program this summer. (Enroll here. It’s easy!)

PTS earns you a credit on your electric bill when you reduce your energy usage during “peak” times of the day, when demand on the electric grid is higher. Customers enrolled can see credits of up to $12 on their summer bills.

Peak time hours usually occur between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on summer days, when people are running their air conditioners, stores are open and factories are humming, etc.

You will receive an alert ahead of expected peak times, so you can plan your adjusted usage. There is no cost to enroll and you can stay in the program for as long as you would like. There’s no penalty if you choose to not actively participate while in the program.

Note: If you miss tomorrow’s deadline, you can still enroll for PTS, but you won’t be active in the program until next year. For more information on PTS, check out CUB’s fact sheet.
