Helpful CUB events in September

Sadly, there are just a few weeks left of summer, but we have a number of events organized to help you learn more about consumer protections and ways to save on your utility bills as we enter fall.

Check out our list of major events to see which one catches your eye. We hope to see you there!

6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 9: Blue Island utility bill clinic

Are you interested in saving money and making your home more comfortable? Join CUB and the Blue Island Public Library (2433 York St., Blue Island, IL, 60406) for a free utility bill clinic where you will meet individually with a CUB expert to discuss how to read your utility bills and spot errors and rip-offs. We’ll also show you tips and tricks to save energy and money. And we’ll tell you about programs and special electricity-pricing plans that are good for the planet and your bottom line. There is no registration for this event and walk-ins are welcome.

Note: This is an in-person event, so participants are expected to wear masks and practice safe social distancing.

7:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 14: Home energy savings workshop with Roselle Public Library

At this in-person event at the Roselle Public Library (40 South Park St., Roselle, IL, 60172), a CUB expert will help you learn how to analyze your utility bills to see if you’re paying for unnecessary products and services, and lower your bill. Find out how your usage compares to other consumers and learn about  money-saving energy-efficiency products and services. RSVP here
