CUB’s upcoming virtual events for February

Want to learn more about ways to save money on your utility bills, get your bills analyzed and learn more about consumer protections? Check out our upcoming events for the month of February! We are continuing to host our events virtually due to COVID-19 to keep you safe and up-to-date on important information about your utility bills.

Have questions or just want to chat with the CUB staff? Every Friday at 11 a.m. we host Coffee with CUB to answer your utility questions and talk! Join us by visiting our Facebook page and watch us via Facebook Live. We also host a Spanish language version, Cafecito con CUB, on Tuesdays at 2 p.m.!


5:00 – 7:00 p.m., Monday, Feb. 1: One-on-One Utility Bill Consultation with State Representative Anna Moeller.
Join us for a free online event to learn more about reducing electric, gas, and both landline and cell phone bills. Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to discuss their bills in a private and secure video call. Learn more about this event and register here.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2: Accessing Utility Financial Assistance Programs Webinar with Garfield Park Community Council.
Learn about some of the COVID-19 consumer protections and utility assistance being offered to Chicago residents. Register here.

2:00 – 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 3: Understanding Your Cable Options and Reducing Robocalls with CUB.
Join CUB, Sen. Sara Feigenholtz, Rep. Margaret Croke, Alderman Michele Smith, Alderman Tom Tunney, and Cook County Commissioner Bridget Gainer for a free Facebook Live webinar about reducing cable costs and robocalls! To join, visit our Facebook page at 2:00 p.m.

6:00 – 7:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 17: Home Energy Savings Workshop with the 25th Ward
Join CUB and the 25th Ward for free events about decoding your utility bills, programs designed to save energy and money, as well as the latest in Illinois energy policy and COVID-19 protections. This workshop will be presented in English, Spanish, and Chinese. Learn more and register here.

11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 18: Conversations in the Community
Conversations in the Community highlights the work of community organizations in Illinois especially during this COVID-19 health pandemic. Join us for an informal conversation about access to services in the community. Because CUB is a utility watchdog organization we also talk about utility assistance and issues.
