
The Citizens Utility Board’s Outreach team travels across the state to staff free events, giving consumers energy efficiency tips for their home, educating them on how clean energy can cut their utility bills and helping people protect themselves from scams and rip-offs.
Amid the winter-heating season, CUB can share tips with you on how to make your home safe, warm and energy efficient. We hope to see you at an event soon!

Join CUB at the Niles Senior Center (999 Civic Center Dr., Niles, IL 60714) for a free event on how to reduce your utility bills and tap into money-saving, clean energy programs. Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to receive a personalized analysis of their bills. Join CUB and the Elgin Senior Services Associates (729 S. McLean Blvd., Elgin, IL 60123) to learn about ways to save money on your utility bills. During this presentation we will cover the following topics: understanding your utility bills, your energy choices, energy efficiency programs, and solar options. After CUB’s presentation, AARP Illinois will present on 2026’s top scams. At noon, there will be a complimentary lunch provided.
