The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently announced plans to replace the Clean Power Plan with the Affordable Clean Energy (ACE) plan. CUB argues the new plan is a bailout for failing coal-fired power plants and threatens to raise our electric bills.
Today, Chicago hosted the only hearings in which the EPA took public comments from hundreds of concerned consumers.
Following the hearings, the Sierra Club held a rally protesting the ACE plan. Among the speakers were Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan, representatives from Clean Power Lake County, and Girl Scout Troop #6195.
CUB has fought hard for renewable energy and energy efficiency programs that lower electricity costs and strengthen our power grid, especially with the passage of the Future Energy Jobs Act (FEJA).
Send a message to the White House against ACE.
