As we enter another summer of elevated electric bills, the Citizens Utility Board (CUB) is holding free events to give you money-saving energy efficiency tips to help you prepare your home for the heat. We hope to see you at an event soon!

6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 8, Home Energy Savings (online) 
Join CUB and Chicago Commons for a virtual Home Energy Savings presentation. Learn about your energy choices and ways to save money on your utility bills. Registration is not required for this event. Click here to join the Zoom meeting. 

10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 9, Arlington Heights Cable Options and Reducing Robocalls (in-person)
Join CUB at the Arlington Heights Senior Center (1801 Central Rd., Arlington Heights, IL 60005) for a free presentation about your cable options and reducing robocalls. Please call 847-253-5532 to register. 

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, DeKalb Home Energy Savings (in-person)
Join CUB and the DeKalb Township at the DeKalb Public Library (309 Oak St., DeKalb, IL 60115) to learn about your energy choices and ways to save money on your utility bills. Registration is not required for this event.  

11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Thursday, June 11, Chicago Utility Bill Clinic (in-person) 
Join CUB and state Rep. Kimberly du Buclet (5048 S. Indiana Ave., Chicago, IL 60615) for a free event on how to reduce your utility bills and tap into money-saving, clean energy programs. Each participant will speak one-on-one with a CUB counselor to receive a personalized analysis of their bills. Appointments are required for this event. Please register in advance here

6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m., Thursday, June 11, Oak Park Let’s Talk Data Centers (in-person)
Join CUB at the Pilgrim Congregational Church (460 Lake St., Oak Park, IL 60302) for a conversation about data centers, their impacts on communities, and potential solutions and protections—both locally and statewide. Please register in advance here

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, Spring Health Fair on the Block (in-person) 
Join CUB and the Greater Auburn Gresham Development Corporation at the Auburn Gresham Healthy Lifestyle Hub (839 W. 79th St., Chicago, IL 60620) for the 2026 Spring Health Fair on the Block. This event brings together community members for a vibrant day of free health services, wellness resources, and family-friendly activities. CUB will hand out tips on how to save money on your utility bills. 

12:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 12, Danville Utility Bill Clinic (in-person) 
Join CUB and state Senator Paul Faraci at the Danville Public Library (319 N. Vermilion St., Danville, IL 61832) for a free event on how to reduce your utility bills and tap into money-saving, clean energy programs. This event will include a brief presentation, followed by one-on-one consultations with CUB staff. Attendees seeking a personalized bill analysis should bring copies of their most recent gas, electric, and telecom bills to the event. 10:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 13, Chicago Health Fair / Feria de Salud (in-person)
Join CUB and Enlace Chicago (2759 S. Harding Ave., Chicago, IL 60623) for a family-friendly fun day featuring free activities, raffles, and many community resources.

Join CUB and the Village of Highland Park at City Hall (1707 St. Johns Ave., Highland Park, IL 60035) to learn about Switch Together Chicagoland and how you can incorporate solar in your community through other programs like community solar and Illinois Solar for All (ILSFA).
